Chris joined the BBC in 1985. With a Film Editing background and a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design, Chris has been offline editing on Non-Linear formats since 1994. Before that he was editing film, first as and assistant film editor, then sound editor before being promoted to Film Editor. . One major highlight early on, was working with HRH Prince of Wales on a documentary about the state of the planet, as well as assisting on a drama directed by Sir Richard Eyre - 'Tumbledown' starring a young Colin Firth.

Chris has cut a wide variety of programmes, both Drama (e.g. Jonathan Creek, Casualty) and also many factual programmes (Rolf on Art, Life before Birth, Q.E.D,). Chris can bring a lot of creativity into a project. He is used to working with producers/directors with varying levels of programme making experience, and can handle large projects with strict timescales.

Recent years have seen a large amount of factual editing, where assembling actuality followed by constructing a narrative flow in the cutting room has followed, working creatively with the director to realise his/her goal. Followed by overseeing the post production process.

Prior to this Chris worked primarily in Drama, having served his "apprentiship" working at Ealing Film Studios on long running Drama Series and single plays. Working with many directors some inexperienced and some "old hands".
Chris is keen to continue his experience in this area, and has recently worked in Bristol editing Casualty.

Particular skills include good Avid effects knowledge and extensive experience with music editing, and liasing with composers. Now working mainly on Avid Adrenaline systems. Resourceful and flexible, Chris enjoys off-line editing and can undertake the Avid On-line side as well. Names of previous producers who would be happy to talk to prospective clients can be provided.
